Our Learning Focus for the Week of May 1st
Math: This week we will continue to explore arrays. We will work with arrays that have up to five rows and five columns. We will demonstrate how arrays can represent repeated addition and multiplication.

Reading/Language Arts: We will continue reading Charlotte's Web. We will be applying various reading comprehension strategies as we read.
Phonics - Unit 24 Comparatives
rounder, lighter, funniest, earliest, bigger, sadder, hottest
Writing: Narrative Writing and Opinion Writing
Students will finish publishing their personal narrative, and we will begin a free choice opinion piece.
Science: We will focus on the life cycle of butterflies and birds. Students will review plant life cycles and the life cycle of a frog.
STEM - We will continue to care for our bean plants. We will also have a new STEM Project - Open for Business on our May 2nd STEM Day! Remember the best time to see us will be from 9:45 to 11:30! (Remember you are welcome to tour the other rooms while we are out and about!)

Book Drive
Week #1 May 1st-5th- Gently used book drop off- For every 2 books donated books the students will receive 1 ticket.
Week #2 May 8th- 12th - Students can redeem tickets for “new” books for summer reading enjoyment.
