Our Learning Focus for the Week of October 3rd - 7th
Math: This week we will review place value, addition/subtraction word problems, and money. We will also focus on creating and understanding bar graphs.
Writing: We will continue our unit on Personal Narratives. We will share our first Small Moment published stories, and start our second Small Moment Story.
Phonics: We will continue with our phonics list from before the break.
We will continue to practice the Long E Digraph Syllable Pattern
dream, feel, yield, cream, wheel, field, greedy, increase, relief
Social Studies: We will continue to learn about the Cherokee and Creek Native Americans. We will also focus in on understanding who Sequoyah was and why he is an important figure.
Science: We will do our final review of changes in matter. (solids, liquids, gases) We will explore physical vs. chemical changes.
STEM: We will conclude our 3D Georgia Regions STEM project.
Reading/Language Arts: We will review our reading standards for the first nine weeks, and we will focus on describing text to self connections.
Important Information
*Wednesday we have our field trip to the Cobb County Fire Safety Village. Please have your child wear their maroon Kind is the New Cool t-shirt and tennis shoes. (If they do not have this shirt that is totally fine.)
*Our James Oglethorpe in-school field trip is Friday October 7th. Please return permission slips ASAP if you haven’t already!

International Walk to School Day at Tritt (Wed, Oct. 5th)
We would like to invite you to walk/ bike to school on Wednesday, Oct 5. You can walk/bike with your parents or you can join the Tritt Staff at the following spots:
