Our Learning Focus for the Week of August 29th - September 2nd
Math: This week we will begin addition and subtraction strategies within 20. We will focus on Counting On and Making Ten strategies.
We will also complete our Unit Assessment on Place Value, and we will continue small groups for place value learning.
Writing: We will continue our unit on Personal Narratives.
Phonics: We will practice Open Syllable Patterns and study Irregular Plural Nouns.
Our Open Syllable words for the week will be:
cry, go, she, fly, we, so, baby, robot, and tidy.
Social Studies: Georgia Regions (The Appalachian Plateau, The Valley and Ridge Region, The Blue Ridge Mountains, The Piedmont, and The Coastal Plains.)
Science: We will continue to investigate changes in matter. (solids, liquids, gases)
STEM: Our STEM Showcase Day
1. Coding/Programming with Mrs. Dean
2. Stuck Like Glue Challenge
3. Trial 2 for the Place Value Marshmallow Challenge
4. Final Creation for Seasonal Trees (Summer Tree)
Reading/Language Arts: We will learn about character traits, questioning, and retelling beginning, middle, and end of a story.
This week we will focus in on events within a story including challenges characters face and the conclusion.

Gifted Eligibility Process Informational Meeting
Tritt’s Target Team will hold our annual Gifted Eligibility Process Informational Meeting on Thursday, September 1st, at 6:00 p.m. in the ILC. We will explain Cobb County’s eligibility process and criteria for the gifted program. If you are wondering about this process and how it relates to your child or have specific questions, please plan to join us on September 1st!
Rally Kickball Fundraiser
A blue flyer for the upcoming Rally Kickball game was sent home yesterday. Tritt teachers will be competing against Mount Bethel’s teachers in a friendly game of kickball to raise money for the Rally Childhood Cancer Foundation! Please support this great cause and our very own Tritt teachers! The game will be held at Walton High School on September 20th at 5pm. I hope to see you there!
