Writing - Informational Nonfiction Writing
This week we will begin our second informational writing piece. Students will choose their own informational topic, and they will use PebbleGo to complete research in the computer lab on their topic of choice.
Social Studies - SS2H1 The student will read about and describe the lives of historical figures in Georgia history. a. Identify the contributions made by these historic figures: Tomochichi, James Oglethorpe, and Mary Musgrove
Science - S2P3. Students will demonstrate changes in speed and direction using pushes and pulls. a. Demonstrate how pushing and pulling an object affects the motion of the object. b. Demonstrate the effects of changes of speed on an object.
STEM - Captain Planet Adopt a Plant - Fall Tree STEM Challenge

Reading - We will focus on understanding the beginning, middle, and end within stories, capitalizing the names of holidays and other proper nouns, and mastering our CVVC ai, oa, ee, and ea patterns.
ELAGSE2RL5: Describe the overall structure of a story including describing how the beginning introduces the story, the middle provides major events and challenges, and the ending concludes the action.
ELAGSE2L2: Demonstrate command of the conventions of standard English capitalization, punctuation, and spelling when writing. a. Capitalize holidays, product names, and geographic names.
