Our Learning Standards:
Math: MGSE2.OA.1 Solving One Step Word Problems
Consistently and independently uses addition and subtraction to solve one and two step word problems within 100.
Reading/ELA- Ask and Answer Questions ELAGSE2RL1,2
Recount stories, including fables and folktales from diverse cultures, and determines their central message, lesson, or moral.
Phonics - ELAGSE2RF3e: Identify words with inconsistent but common spelling-sound correspondences.

Writing- ELACC2W3
Writes opinion pieces in which they introduce the topic or book they are writing about, state an opinion, supply reasons that support the opinion, use linking words (because/also), to connect opinion and reasons, and provide a concluding statement or section.
Students will continue writing a detailed opinion piece on the topic of their choice.
Students will also practice rearranging and expanding sentences to add to sentence variety.
Science - S2E2. Students will investigate how shadows, moon phases, and length of day change over various time periods.
-Determine the effect of the sun and how shadows change throughout the day.
-Represent data in tables and/or graphs of the length of the day and night to recognize the change in seasons.
-Describes, illustrates, and predicts how the appearance of the moon changes over time.
