This Week’s Learning Standards:
Math- We will review skip counting and place value. We will introduce addition within 100 using base ten blocks.
Reading/ELA- We will continue to focus on non-fiction texts. We will review how to read and understand informational texts (historical events, scientific ideas, and steps in a process.) We will also introduce questioning for key details.
Phonics - We will continue to explore vowel variant digraphs and diphthongs (au,aw, ou/ow, oo/ew, oi/oy). We will also review root words, prefixes, and suffixes.
Writing- We will focus on our informational writing unit. Students will finish their lab reports, and they will begin to write about an informational topic of their choice. We will also review proper nouns.
Science - We will finish our unit on force (pushes and pulls). Students will finalize their device that can make an object move, slow down, or stop.
Social Studies - We will finish our comparison of how our lives are similar and different from the lives of the Creek and Cherokee.
STEAM- Year Long Monarch Project
