Our Learning Focus for the Week of October 10th - 14th
Math: This week we will review Place Value to 1000. We will practice working with numbers in standard form, base ten block form, word form, and expanded form. We will also review telling time.
Writing: We will finish our unit on Personal Narratives. We will complete our second small moment story.
Phonics: We will begin to practice the Long I Digraph Syllable Pattern
bright, pie, sigh, high, flight, lie, brightly, lightning, tighten
Social Studies: We will finish learning about Sequoyah and begin to learn about James Oglethorpe.
Science: We will talk about making healthy choices when we eat.
Reading/Language Arts: We will focus on the main purpose of a text (what the author wants to answer, explain, or describe).
We will also focus on commas in letters.
Important Information
Students will have Guidance on Tuesday and visit the ILC on Wednesday.
Students will attend the Dash Kick Off and preview the Book Fair on Friday.
