Our Learning Focus for the Week of September 12th - 16th
Math: This week we will begin addition and subtraction one step word problems within 20.
Writing: We will continue our unit on Personal Narratives. We will focus on our new goals and continue revising and editing our Small Moment stories.
Phonics: We will practice the Long O Digraph Syllable Pattern
float, doe, grown, boat, shown, toe, below, yellow, toenail
We will also review Collective Nouns.
Social Studies: We will review Georgia Regions (The Appalachian Plateau, The Valley and Ridge Region, The Blue Ridge Mountains, The Piedmont, and The Coastal Plains.) We will begin learning about the Georgia Rivers (Ocmulgee, Oconee, Altamaha, Savannah, St. Mary’s, Chattahoochee, and
Flint.)
Science: We will continue to investigate changes in matter. (solids, liquids, gases) We will explore physical vs. chemical changes.
STEM: Trial 2 for the Place Value Marshmallow Challenge and 3D Georgia Regions
Reading/Language Arts: We will continue to learn about events and problem/solution relationships within stories. We will refocus on asking and answering questions while we read. (W Questions - who, what, when, why, and how)

Rally Kickball Fundraiser
Tritt teachers will be competing against Mount Bethel’s teachers in a friendly game of kickball to raise money for the Rally Childhood Cancer Foundation! Please support this great cause and our very own Tritt teachers! The game will be held at Walton High School on September 20th at 5pm. I hope to see you there!
