Math: We will review money. Students will focus on recognizing coin values and calculating the value of various combinations of coins.

Reading/Language Arts: We will continue our unit on folktales, fables, and fairy tales. This week we will focus on comparing different versions of the same fairy tales. We will also review elements of each, practice finding the moral/message, and understand character point of view.
We will also focus on shades of meaning with adjectives and verbs.
For example, students will be asked to arrange words in order of strength.

suggestion, direction, decoration, celebration, addition, definition
Writing: Opinion Writing
Students will review their successful persuasive letters written to the principal in which they asked for extra recess. Students will also start their second persuasive letter. Look out! They might be coming to you. :)
Science: We will review how the Sun compares to other stars, and we will learn about how shadows form and change during the day.
STEM - Shadow Sticks
Social Studies: We complete our review of Jackie Robinson and Martin Luther King Jr. Students will be asked to compare and contrast these two American heroes.
